Privacy Policy

Hex Quest is made by Paramore Design ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the Hex Quest game and this website collect, and why.
The short version:
- We collect anonymous usage data so we can see how the game is played and make it better.
- It isn't linked to your name, email or Apple ID.
- We don't show ads, don't track you across other apps or websites, and don't sell data.
What the game collects
TestFlight and App Store builds of Hex Quest use Google Analytics for Firebase to record anonymous usage. It collects:
- Game events: when the app opens, when a game starts or ends, the level and score you reach, which world or mode you play, settings you change, which screens you open, and how long you play.
- Firebase's standard events: first open, session start, time in the app, and app or iOS updates.
- Device details: device model, iOS version, app version and language.
- A rough region: Google works out an approximate location (country or region) from your IP address. Google says it doesn't log or store the IP address itself.
- A random app ID: Firebase creates a random identifier for the app on your device. It is not Apple's advertising identifier, and we don't collect the vendor identifier either. Deleting the app resets it.
We have switched off Firebase's advertising features, ad personalization and Google signals. Hex Quest never asks to track you, because it doesn't. Analytics data is kept for 14 months, then deleted.
What the game doesn't collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, contacts or photos.
- Your precise location.
- Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Payment information. Hex Quest has no in-app purchases.
Turning analytics off
Press and hold the Menu button in a game to open the settings panel, then switch off Share anonymous usage. From then on the game sends nothing to Firebase.
Game Center
Leaderboards and achievements use Apple's Game Center. Apple handles your Game Center account under Apple's Privacy Policy. The game reads leaderboard names and scores to show them to you, and your nickname and scores are visible to other players. You can sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings.
Data on your device
Your progress, best scores and settings are saved on your device. The game also keeps a small on-device copy of its analytics events, which never leaves your phone unless you choose to share it. Deleting the app removes all of this.

We don't sell or rent data to anyone, and we don't share it for advertising.
This website
hexquest.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ads. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
Emailing us
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and we delete them when they're no longer needed.
Children
Hex Quest is a general-audience game. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete data about you, or to object to its use. Because analytics data isn't linked to your identity, we usually can't single out your data. The quickest options are:
- turn off Share anonymous usage in the game;
- delete the app, which resets the app ID and removes local data.

Changes
If the game starts collecting something new, we'll update this page and the date at the top before it ships.
